We are in alignment and working towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, which were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a global call to action aimed at eradicating poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring that by 2030 all people enjoy prosperity and peace.
Nera Pigon Grammou S.A. prioritizes Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) throughout its operations. We believe that our future depends on sustainability, and it is intrinsically linked to the ongoing development of the social collective, supported equally by Sustainable Development and the physical and mental health, safety, and well-being of our employees and the wider society.
As an active member of the social collective, we are committed to actually contributing to the well-being of our society, protecting the natural environment, producing high-quality products, and fostering a harmonious and collaborative relationship with the local communities where the company operates.
We have established and implemented a Policy of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development that reflects our corporate values and principles.
Environmental Commitments
- At our company, we implement a comprehensive program of proper environmental practices. We follow certified operating procedures and implement programs to minimize our environmental footprint. Our "home" is our responsibility, and it is our duty to do our best to protect the environment.
- Developing within forests of oak, fir, beech, cedar, and black pine in the mountainous complex of the legendary Grammos mountain, we decisively chose to reconstruct an existing building, thereby reaching zero environmental footprint and preserving the natural capital of the area.
- We are in the process of certification for the Environmental Management System, ISO 14001:2015.
- We use 100% recyclable materials and, following European Legislation, we use non-removable caps and we are in the process of using R-PET material (material from recycled raw materials).
- We use low-energy LED bulbs throughout our manufacturing unit and storage areas. We have already started a program for the gradual independence of our factory from electrical energy and the use of renewable energy sources.
- We have already initiated the ok-recycle program, which concerns the recycling of raw materials, while we are in contact with Rewarding Packaging Recycling for the management of our pack materials.

- As a member of SEFYMEN, we actively participate in all actions for Sustainable Development and for a greener planet.
- We fully take responsiblity on an annual basis for each bottle we produce, paying environmental fees.
- We are registered in the National Registry of Producers (of waste), paying the relevant fees.
- We are receiving information and study of the application of the requirements of the European Legislation 904/2019/EU, for single-use plastics.
- We continuously monitor water consumption indicators and comply with the relevant Legislation for the Protection of the sources.
Commitments to Society
- To address the demographic problem of the area in which we operate, we have created conditions of economic stability, hiring over 70% of our staff exclusively from the residents of the Municipality of Nestorio, with an emphasis on the young scientists of the area to prevent brain drain.
- We redesigned the water supply system for the village of Pefkofyto in the Municipality of Nestorio.
- We funded the heating system of all school units in the Municipality of Nestorio.
- We support the local fire department by providing equipment for fire trucks.
- We provide free quantities of ARRENA® Natural Mineral Water to the border police.
- Our company supports the work of Cultural Associations in the Kastoria Prefecture.
- We fund the first prizes of the student competition in literature and poetry organized by the Holy Metropolis of Kastoria.
- During the catastrophic floods caused by the Daniel storm, we transported and distributed ARRENA® Natural Mineral Water to cover the needs of all affected areas in Thessaly, including local public services (army, police, and fire department).
- We donated ARRENA® Natural Mineral Water to all administrative, medical, nursing staff, and workers of the Health Center of Argos Orestiko.
- We provided a significant quantity of ARRENA® Natural Mineral Water to all the Prefectural Services of Kastoria.
- We provided a significant quantity of ARRENA® Natural Mineral Water to all the Municipal Services of Argos Orestiko.
- We promptly responded to the urgent need of the Pathological Clinic of the General Hospital of Kastoria for the donation of ARRENA Natural Mineral Water 500ml, due to the hospital's shortage of water caused by frequent interruptions in the water supply network.

- We are in the process of certification with the Health & Safety at Work system, ISO 45001:2018.
