Nera Pigon Grammou S.A. prioritizes Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) throughout its operations. We believe that our future depends on sustainability, and it is intrinsically linked to the ongoing development of the social collective, supported equally by Sustainable Development and the physical and mental health, safety, and well-being of our employees and the wider society.
As an active member of the social collective, we are committed to actually contributing to the well-being of our society, protecting the natural environment, producing high-quality products, and fostering a harmonious and collaborative relationship with the local communities where the company operates.
We have established and implemented a Policy of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development that reflects our corporate values and principles.
- The company's first Sustainability Report has been prepared in accordance with the international GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) Standards and records our performance in the areas of environment, social responsibility and corporate governance (ESG), while laying the foundations for continuous improvement. Even though, Nera Pigon Grammou is a new company, taking the initiative to prepare this Report is proof of our strategic commitment to the principles of sustainable development, which is already integrated from the first steps of our operation.
- The company's operations are in line with sustainable development, constantly setting goals and in a continuous effort to reduce environmental impacts.
- Both the choice of the route of the water pipes from the water supply to the factory, as well as the choice of the building itself, were made with the main goal of causing the least possible disturbance to the local ecosystem.
- We are certified for the Environmental Management System, ISO 14001:2015.
- Our bottles have tethered caps, and consist of 30% recycled material (30% rPET) from Certified Suppliers
- Use of low-energy LED lamps throughout our factory unit and in storage areas.
- We have already started a program for the gradual de-reliance of our factory on electricity and the use of renewable energy sources.
- We are Certified with the ok recycled Scheme, where an independent body certifies the percentage of recycled material, against the green washing tactic
- We manage the solid waste of the production process in approved recycling bodies
- We are Active Members of SEFYMEN, we monitor the Legislation and comply with it in every aspect of our operation
- We monitor and record water consumption daily, ensuring the proper management of water resources and compliance with the Legislation
Commitments to Society
- Over 50% of our employees come from the local community of Kastoria
- We redesigned the water supply system for the village of Pefkofyto in the Municipality of Nestorio.
- We funded the heating system of all school units in the Municipality of Nestorio.
- We support the local fire department by providing equipment for fire trucks.
- We provide free quantities of ARRENA® Natural Mineral Water to the border police.
- Our company supports the work of Cultural Associations in the Kastoria Prefecture.
- We fund the first prizes of the student competition in literature and poetry organized by the Holy Metropolis of Kastoria.
- During the catastrophic floods caused by the Daniel storm, we transported and distributed ARRENA® Natural Mineral Water to cover the needs of all affected areas in Thessaly, including local public services (army, police, and fire department).
- We donated ARRENA® Natural Mineral Water to all administrative, medical, nursing staff, and workers of the Health Center of Argos Orestiko.
- We provided a significant quantity of ARRENA® Natural Mineral Water to all the Prefectural Services of Kastoria.
- We provided a significant quantity of ARRENA® Natural Mineral Water to all the Municipal Services of Argos Orestiko.
- We promptly responded to the urgent need of the Pathological Clinic of the General Hospital of Kastoria for the donation of ARRENA Natural Mineral Water 500ml, due to the hospital's shortage of water caused by frequent interruptions in the water supply network.
